Discord roles control what members can see and do. YCYC Hub uses roles to keep staff areas protected while keeping public community channels welcoming.
MEMBER ACCESS
New members should begin with the public onboarding channels. If a channel is missing, it may be intentionally limited by role, still being configured, or hidden by your Discord channel settings. Do not assume a missing channel is an error.
STAFF AND MODERATION
Staff-only areas are for approved YCYC Hub administrators and moderators. They may contain support coordination, moderation logs, approvals, and operational discussions. Never request access to a private area by sharing personal credentials.
PERMISSIONS
A role can control viewing channels, sending messages, creating threads, attaching files, using reactions, and managing messages. Discord permissions can be inherited from a category and then adjusted for an individual channel. A channel being visible to one person does not guarantee it is visible to every member.
IF YOU NEED ACCESS
Contact a moderator through the appropriate support channel or submit a YCYC Hub support ticket. Explain which channel or feature you need and why. Staff will grant only the access required for the task.
